Support Soul Purpose Hope Homes! LEARN MORE.

Last month one of the worst catastrophes in the history of Nepal took place. More than 8,800 lives were lost. Over 23,000 people were injured, and hundreds of thousands of families have been left homeless. But even in the midst of such tragedy, there is hope…

With the help of our partners we’ve raised nearly $8,500 for Nepal, and we’ve helped other ministries send relief to their contacts in Nepal. With the resources we’ve collected we are focusing on providing temporary shelter materials for families whose homes were destroyed. So far we’ve helped about 150 families by purchasing tin which can be used for roof tops as well as side walls.

Next, we are going to do all that we can to help build complete homes which will last 4-5 years as families rebuild. For this, we recently got in contact with a Domata India graduate in Nepal, who is pictured below in his awesome t-shirt!

Pastor Dawa Lama graduated Domata in 2006 and has since planted two churches. Many of the families from Dawa’s churches have homes that were destroyed. He has mentioned at least 45 families who are in need, and to build they need about $500 per home.

Right now we have enough funds to build 2 homes, and I’ll be sending the money to Dawa this week. I’m standing in faith to build at least 5 homes, and for that we just need $1500 more. After we meet this first goal, we’ll check and see where Pastor Dawa stands and see how much more we can help him. This is yet another opportunity to get involved if you haven’t already. I understand that not everyone can help financially, so please pray and stand in faith with us. The Lord will provide!

Again, thanks to all who have shared with Nepal since the earthquake last month. If you’d still like to help we welcome you to do so.

With Love,
Mike Van Buskirk
