With nearly 70% of India’s population living in villages ranging from fewer than 500 people to well over 10,000, that’s around 800 million people. And since the vast majority of those people are still without a gospel witness, effective village ministry is essential to fulfilling the Great Commission in India.
To make a long-term impact we’ve found reaching out to children and education to be some of our most effective avenues for reaching villages with the gospel. Our project in Naldi village is a good example…
Now our partners in Naldi want to establish another such outreach in the neighboring village of Amtali. In Amtali, supplies are a little more expensive so our budget for 30 children and 1 teacher is about $235 per month.
Imagine this! For under $10 per month, we can educate a child and feed them a nutritious meal each school day. For under $10 per month, we can help shape a child’s future — and a huge door for the gospel is opened at the same time!
We’ve already seen the effectiveness of this type of village ministry in Naldi where the church is growing as a result. People once hostile to the church are now coming with repentant hearts, all because we are blessing their children.
