God, our Creator, has placed it in the hearts of men to make discoveries. Our desire for discovery sends us to space and to the depths of the ocean floor. We are constantly exploring the natural world, all in order to satisfy that part of us that craves discovery.
What’s amazing is that there is no end to the discoveries that can and will be made. So vast is the planet God has given us, and the universe in which we dwell, that we will never cease to be amazed as we uncover what God had hidden in our world. Every new discovery is simply a gateway into yet another new discovery. It is fascinating.
However, apart from all that is natural, there is a whole other realm of discovery, and it’s that which is spiritual. Spiritual discoveries are waiting to be made, and those who seek are those who find. This year, I believe we are going to make some outstanding discoveries as we seek God. Truths and revelation are going to flow, mysteries are going to be unlocked, and we are going to discover new dimensions of the plans and purposes of God.
There is nothing quite like making a discovery. The ones who find become voices of inspiration, and those voices attract attention. The potential, then, for heightened attention of spiritual things rests on those of us God is calling to discover the untapped realities of God.
2013 is a year of discovery. Natural and supernatural discoveries will be made. For the Church, this means it is time to seek God and follow the Holy Spirit into the deep. We must be unwilling to settle with our current level of revelation and understanding. There is more! There is always more, and that reality directs our hearts into a lifestyle of daily discovery with God.
