The popular TV show ’24’Â never did capture my attention, though I’m sure the action is intriguing (a lot of my friends really like it). I have thoroughly enjoyed the LOST series though…Anyway, this post really isn’t about TV shows, it’s about something much more important.
We each have 24 hours in a day, and as the body of Christ I never fully realized how easy it is for us to completely seize the time we’ve been given. When the Bible talks about giving no place to the devil, I believe that applies to time as well. We shouldn’t give the enemy even a moments time.
As our church in Sikkim has rallied together in intercession for a little boy who’s been hospitalized, we’ve decided to occupy all 24 hours prayerfully. It’s easy. Find 12 people that know how to pray and assign each of them a half hour slot of time, which they will occupy day and night. My slot just finished; from 7:30 – 8:00, I am praying for complete and total healing for a little boy named Asaph who’s just days old.
As a church, we’re giving the enemy no place and making tremendous power available. We’re even considering making this a weekly event, where we each draw a time slot from a bucket and “occupy” that time for the week.
Baby Asaph will make a full recovery, and until he does, intercession will happen constantly; all 24 hours of the day.
