At the end of each year I make an effort to hear the Lord’s heart for the next. What better time to receive the direction of the King than at the beginning of a new year? Well, as you know, 2010 is upon us and I sense in my heart that this is to be a year for King Jesus. I know, every year is and should be focused on Him, but for me this is the banner for 2010.
I just want to focus on Him…not “His glory†or “increase†or “the divine†or any of the other banner words we might use – though they and others could all very well be God inspired. I just believe that more than ever we need to focus on Him and His Lordship.
Over the years I’ve received many different words of direction, and I believe each were from the Spirit of God. In 2008, the Lord said – “Propagate!†in 2009, “Divine.†2007 was, “the year of resurrection!†Praise God for all of those, and I know many others received God inspired words of their own.
I must say though, this year, with the emphasis being simply “Jesus†it is a breath of fresh air. I’m excited for 2010 – “The Year of The King!†and I believe that in drawing near to Him and emphasizing the Lordship of Jesus Christ, He is going to do things way beyond human effort.
At the entrance of this New Year I’m reminded that Jesus truly is King, and I’m going to do my best to crown each day with His Lordship.
