The love of God is an amazing thing. To hear Him whisper, “I love you†is worth the world a thousand times over, and to be the beneficiaries of His lavish love is literally beyond words.
I continually find that His love for me is much bigger and greater than I currently know, and this living revelation of His love is what causes our hearts to be secure. As the scriptures declare, we are to be “rooted and grounded in His love…†for us (Ephesians 3:17)
In light of His love, here’s something to consider: the Holy Spirit is God’s gift of love to you. Think about the perfect unity in the God-Head, and yet we know each Person is distinct. In the ministry of Jesus, He suffered the most when that unity with His Father was severed, an experience He willingly endured for us.
When Christ ascended, the Holy Spirit was sent by the Father in the name of Jesus (John 14:26), and He now fills us. Do you see the sacrifice of love associated with the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit? He has willingly separated Himself from the perfect communion now enjoyed between the Father and the Son – all for us! The Holy Spirit is the love of God manifested.
Now here’s something really huge: You and I have a privilege beyond comprehension, now being the ones through whom the Father, Son and Holy Spirit can once again enjoy intimacy. The Spirit of God in you longs for fellowship through you.
Today, as you give voice to the longings of The Spirit, as you pray in tongues and utter Holy Spirit inspired words, you become an avenue for perfect unity between each member of the God-Head. The Spirit of God is able to commune with the Father through you, which means if we withhold ourselves, He cannot. Mind boggling I know, but true none-the-less, God has so integrated us into His plan and person…what amazing love!
