Speaking to the gold!
I want to share briefly about a time of prayer we just had with leaders of our church; it was actually more of a time of encouragement, which came as a result of listening to the Holy Spirit in prayer.
We each took some time asking the Father to give us a word of exhortation/comfort/edification (prophecy) for the person to our right, and then we each delivered. It was very encouraging for all of us, and what was extra cool is that God had spoken very directly on this subject to one of our leaders before the meeting. After we finished, our worship leaders spoke up and read what he had written earlier today; it was a perfect picture of what had just transpired, a wonderful confirmation from the Father that we were on the right page.
What got us going in this direction was the thought that anyone can see the dirt, but it takes real skill to find the gold. So we each looked past the surface of another, and spoke to the gold in their spirit. This is a wonderful spiritual exercise for God’s people to practice in the context of team meetings or prayer meetings.
