It was an absolutely gorgeous day in Sikkim today; beautiful blue sky, warm sun, and a very comfortable temperature. Check out the view: The mountain range you see in the distance is host to Mt. Kanchenzonga -the third highest in the world after Mt. Everest and K2.

I took this picture while I was up in the market taking care of some “official business”Â, which is what the rest of this post is about.
I spent a significant amount of my day hanging out in the police department; a special branch that deals with issues relating to foreigners, it’s called the Foreigner’s Registration Office: Special Branch. I broke the law, (according to the “new lady”Â) but don’t be alarmed, it really wasn’t a serious issue, although she did compare it to murder. You must be wondering what in the world happened.
This is the deal: I misplaced my Residence Certificate. I didn’t know that I wasn’t supposed to take it out of the state, and I did, actually I think I left it in America, oops. The dear lady, who now works in the position where a close acquaintance of ours did previously, told me that ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law, something I understand and accept. It was her analogy though that I thought was hilarious. She compared my misplacing a document with her going to America, committing murder, and then claiming to be ignorant. Hmmm…okay?
So, anyhow, everything is fine. The F.O.G. filled the place and my friend Neema (who works under the new lady) issued me a duplicate certificate, and now I just have to go and get an extension from the Home Department. I thank God for His mighty favor in my life, and upon my family; it’s the F.O.G. -Â the Favor Of God! Hallelujah.
We’ve had many wonderful experiences over the years of God’s favor in our lives and ministry, and it is those little experiences of favor that we must be thankful for. God’s favor in those seemingly insignificant times is quite possibly what causes us to avoid some major challenges. Praise Jesus!

I hate to say it but your story made me laugh! How dramatic for someone to compare you to a murderer. You learned your lesson though didn’t you? God is good!!!
Thats hilarious!!! Yet worth the view I’d have to admit. .
Love the pictures – sure hope we get to visit someday! Of course, we will make sure and not misplace our documents (hahahaha!) You are right though, those times in our life help us to remember that the Favor of God is on our lives and that He goes before us and prepares a way, amen! Thank God you were not convicted as a ‘murderer’. Wow – to compare those two situations does blow my mind!
I needed to read this…praise GOD for the F.O.G! I have been studying favor…this is great! Ty
