Some things are absolutely vital. They need to describe us, and we need to walk in them. To ignore certain virtues, or to neglect them, would be to set ourselves up for certain failure. Here are one of those virtues…
Jeremiah 44:10
“They are not humbled (contrite, penitent, and bruised for their guilt and iniquities) even to this day…”
Humility. It’s indispensable. We must have it, and we must maintain its course in our lives. Humility is a conductor for grace and grace is the key that will unlock so many of the doors in our lives.
Humility of heart will position us for the grace of God to be poured out in an ever increasing measure; on the contrary, though, God resists the proud. Because of pride God is restricted from activity in our lives, and we actually stand in opposition to Him. When pride is on display instead of humility, we’ll find everything good that God wants to do becomes hindered.
It’s a huge eye opener to me to consider that the simple act of humility can actually promote everything God wants to do in and through my life. It’s so simple. Just walk in humility. Be repentant when I miss it, when I’ve wronged someone ask forgiveness, say I’m sorry. Give other’s preference. Be humble.
When “to be, or not to be” is applied to humility, just be; you’ll be glad you did.
