Today we receive five new additions to our Hope Home family in Sikkim…that’s right five! Five boys! Wooohooo!!! We’re really excited and kind of feel like we’re walking on water…just trusting God to work it all out. We’ve been believing for our next additions, but never really had five at once in mind…but praise God we’re so happy we get to take these kids in.
I found out about these boys while I was teaching at a fellow minister’s Bible School earlier this month. These boys had been part of another orphanage, most of them since they were very little and at least one since birth. When the overseer of the ministry passed away almost three years ago, these children were tragically left to fend for themselves. It’s really a very terrible and sad story. The oldest boy, who is only 13 or so years old, was left in charge of the rest of the group. Many times the children had no food, and for three years they lived in a compound without any electricity. As people began encroaching upon the property, the boys became nothing more than servants.
It’s been years since any of the children have had a new pair of clothes or shoes, and they’ve gone without proper schooling for at least the last three years. Now, we get to change their lives! We’ll be shopping, we have to buy furniture, and we have to get them enrolled in school by next session; lots of work and lots of fun.
Keep us and the children in your prayers. With these new five plus our current four, that brings us up to a total of nine children. We need additional staffing; national staffs who have a heart to serve boys and girls…believe with us. We’ll keep you updated, and I’ll be working on getting pages for each child setup in the next several days.
Wow!!! Praise God,9 kids.Thats awsome. I will keep you all in my prayers. We serve a good God. Love Mom
