There’s something about that person who lives for God. To the unbeliever it often strikes chords of wonder, amazement, or possibly even anger, with any amount of emotion accompanying their soul.
Mark 6:20 AMP
For Herod had [a reverential] fear of John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and [continually] kept him safe [under guard]. When he heard , he was much perplexed; and [yet] he heard him gladly.
As a new creature in Christ Jesus, a person made righteous and holy by God’s eternal sacrifice, there is a strange and intriguing dynamic to life. And why wouldn’t there be? The child of God doesn’t fit the mold, doesn’t adjust to the status quo, we’re not being conformed to this world – but continually transformed…at least we should be.
It’s nothing we have to do on purpose or try and manufacture, it’s just the way it is. The lost look on at the found with a very strange intrigue, and that is what being a “witness” is all about. We get to tell our story, and share the wonderful experiences that make us who we are! The listener might be much perplexed, but something causes them to listen gladly.
So go ahead friend, tell your story, and let that strange intrigue do its work in the heart of the listener.
