Mark 8:3 AMP
“And if I send them away to their homes hungry, they will be feeble through exhaustion and faint along the road; and some of them have come a long way.”
It’s amazing to me how inconsiderate people can sometimes be (and I’ve certainly been one myself). Jesus showed common sense consideration by his concern for the people’s physical needs being met, and a little consideration can go a long way. Jesus actually took responsibility for something that He could have easily ignored. Besides, if the people are hungry, that’s their problem right?
Apparently not. Jesus took ownership of this “practical” need, and insisted that it be met. This display of consideration was a sign of compassion and revealed Jesus’ heart. He was capable of consideration on such a massive scale because of His ability to trust His Father. The people’s need became His need which became the Father’s need.
It’s so easy to turn a cold shoulder or to look the other way, so easy to pay no attention, or to expect someone else to do something. It takes a real man or woman, however, to take a deep breath and commit. Being responsible is related to our ability to respond, and the bigger our hearts become the more response-able we will be.
I guess in this day and age, common sense is not-so-common, but among God’s people it should be easy to see.
I percieve that this a time in my journey I must TRUST GOD and commit, there’s something that’s been on heart for quite sometime… THANKS AGAIN BROTHER B & SISTER J.
You can do it brother!
