I inevitably turned 30 today. Wow! For me it significantly marks 15 years of walking with God; half my life. Having met Jesus when I was 15 years old.
I also believe there is a spiritual dynamic to one’s ‘crossing-over’ into their 30’s. Here are some highlights from scripture…
Numbers 4:23
“From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.”
- The age 30 marked the beginning of priestly ministry.
Genesis 41:46
“And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.”
- At age 30, Joseph became ruler in Egypt.
2 Samuel 5:4
“David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.”
- David finally began his kingly reign at the pivotal age of 30.
Ezekiel 1:1
“Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.”
- The prophet Ezekiel was called to his office at age 30.
- Jesus began His earthly ministry at the age of 30.
I would say I’m in pretty good company. This is going to be a great year, and I’m expecting things to take off like never before in my spiritual life!
Now 30,
Mike
