Where does your strength come from? - Soul-Purpose!

You’re never as strong as you think you are. And the moment you think you’re strong enough is probably about the same time you’ll find out otherwise. “Strong” men fall all the time…

Proverbs 7:26

“For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.”

There’s nothing more deadly than sexual sin. A quick look at world affairs shows us how common and how easy it is to fail morally. What do Tiger Woods, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Edwards and most recently Mark Sanford and Anthony Weiner all have in common? They were all strong men, and each slain by the same sword.

The book of Revelation gives us clear insight into the crisis that will plague our world in the ‘end-times’.

Revelation 9:21

“Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.”

Fornication is where the word ‘porn’ comes from and it includes all forms of sexual immorality. It is, and will continue to be, one of the dominating forces of darkness in our age. As the nations become desensitized to this and other sinful behaviors it will become more accepting and may even embrace these sins more and more. This is bad news for the world, but for the children of God who take a stand against darkness, it will enable us to shine even brighter.

We must take our stand. Intimacy with Jesus will fortify our hearts and strengthen us against the looming darkness that seeks to destroy. Only when you hide yourself away in Jesus will you be able to stand strong and overcome. Understanding your weakness will cause you to depend on Him, and that alone will keep you safe.

Remember: You are only as strong as you are intimate with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
