Mark 14:8

She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.”

It’s a shame when someone despises the efforts of another member of Christ’s body. They might not be doing what you’re doing, or doing something how you would do it. Their methods or strategies might be completely different from yours. But who cares? At least they’re doing something. And if they’re doing what they can, God is pleased (which is all that really matters).

Mary came and anointed Jesus in a display of extravagant worship that caught some by surprise. What seemed wasteful to others was the expression of a woman’s heart who had been touched by the love of Christ. Jesus received her worship, as extravagant and as wasteful as it may have seemed.

I believe we’d all be a whole lot better off if we’d quit looking around at this person or the other, criticizing their methods, and rather pay attention to our own personal devotion and how it blesses the Lord.

God is pleased when you do what you can. It may seem insignificant to someone else, but it blessed the Lord. Do what you. It’s all the Lord requires, nothing more and certainly nothing less.
