A good rule to live by is to always emphasize personal application before corporate responsibility. In other words, apply truth personally and avoid putting pressure on others to conform. If certain Biblical truth is meant for the body of Christ, it is Christ’s (the builder of the Church) responsibility to enforce it, not yours or mine.
Folks get out of balance when they begin telling others what they’re supposed to do (or believe). They think if God has put it on their heart, that it is their responsibility to make sure everyone else jumps on board. No, that is Jesus’ job. It’s my job to apply truth to my personal life, and perhaps he will use the example of my personal application to inspire others.
The body of Christ needs more inspirer’s and fewer dictators. Allow the testimony of truth practiced to inspire others to make a personal decision.ÂÂ
