The bottom line is fruit. God is ever interested in the investment He has made in us, and the return. The scripture is full of examples on this subject. Just look at the many parables Jesus told on the subject of stewardship and, of course, the popular 15th chapter of John’s gospel.
I want the Lord to get a full return from my life. Like Christ, I am interested in results…in fruit. I can’t bear the thought of living fruitless; not in light of the huge investment God has made in my life.
Fruit can be seen on many levels. From the produce of love being evident in my actions, to the people around me being touched by the goodness of God, and nothing is more telling than souls saved and disciples made. True fruit can be measured only be eternity’s scale. For Christ has commissioned us to bear fruit for eternity. The question we have to ask is, “How is what I’m doing now impacting eternity?”
Bear fruit my friend. Accept nothing less than a fruit-filled life. One that shouts glory to the King of kings and the Lord of lords!
