Keep Climbing
During Monday night prayer I was reminded and encouraged to continue climbing, (I love it when the Holy Spirit reminds me of things – that’s part of His job description you know). His reminder sparked the memory of a dream I had several years ago.
In my dream, there was a man climbing a steep mountain, and on the mountain there were many obstacles. In places the mountain was wet and slippery, but despite the challenge he absolutely had to make it to the top. In fact, it was his destiny to get to the top of the mountain. There was just one problem. The whole time he was trying to make it up the mountain, he was also pushing a wheelchair with him. It wasn’t his wheelchair, he didn’t even need it, but he struggled in his attempt to take the object of bondage up the mountain with him. He was sweating and toiling only to find himself slipping back down the mountain, to the place where he began. He could only seem to reach a certain point, until that object of bondage caused him to fall again, and again, and again.
I want to be a good mountain climber. I am determined to make it to the top of the Lord’s mountain, and I know that in order to make it, I cannot be weighed down with non essential things.
My prayer: Lord help me to pack light!
Wow Mike,
That was a wonderful dream, and an even more wonderful prayer! I echo that! Praying for you and yours.
