If you are part of the body of Christ, then you are part of a community. It is a community of believers, which spans the globe, and consists of local churches and gatherings of God’s people around the world.
As I recently met with ministers and believers that are part of the community God has called me to, I began to examine the connections we share with one another. It is my hearts desire to experience the highest level of connection possible within my community; so I began to ask myself, “What is the most powerful connection we can have with someone?†The answer, I believe, is covenant. When we bring the concept of covenant into our community, whether it be a local church, or network of believer’s like in my case, we enter into a powerful relationship with those we’re connected to.
I sense in my spirit that God is calling me to posses a covenant mentality with those He’s connected me to in the nations. I believe this type of mind set must exist because He has called us together to-gather fruit for eternity, and I don’t take that lightly. We must work together with a heightened sense of personal responsibility, and the word that comes to the forefront of my mind is covenant.
I will continue these “Covenant Community†postings, and will share with you two of the key components of community that must accompany the kind of relationship I am describing. If you’re reading this, then you may very well be one of the ones God has called into this community, and I encourage you to explore this concept of covenant with me. God bless you!
