Welcome to the New Year, we are super excited for all the Lord has in store for the Body of Christ! This month our church and ministry team are launching into 2014 with a Daniel-style 21 day fast. We’re seeking the Lord’s will and direction by setting aside some of the natural to focus more on the spiritual.

The story behind the “Seeking God’s Heart” devotional is very dear to my heart. I actually wrote the devotional at the beginning of last year for our January fast. I decided to write it in response to a dear young lady in our community who hasn’t yet been born again, but who we see the Holy Spirit drawing.
This young lady visited our church while we were announcing our fast last year, and later that week we met her in town. While we were sitting together she asked if she could join us in our time of fasting. This young lady is from a buddhist family, but she wanted to participate in our fast, and that was clear evidence to us that the Lord was touching her heart. We told her she was most welcomed to join us, and that’s when I told her that we would be making daily devotions available during each of the 21 days of our fast.
So, each day I wrote a devotion, especially with her in mind. I wrote, hoping that in each days message her heart would be touched and opened in a greater degree. We are still praying for her, and I believe that she will eventually give her heart to Jesus.
