Here are three things you absolutely never need to pray for:
- For God to prosper you.
- For God to heal you.
- For God to deliver you from sin.
Here’s the deal: You and I never have to pray for God to do something, which He’s already done. Rather, we must learn to walk in all that He accomplished through redemption. These three things are a done deal. God absolutely has already prospered you, and healed you, and delivered you from sin.
The prayer in 3 John verse 2 lays it out perfectly.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
These were not petitions directed toward God, but were directed to the saints; that they would indeed walk in the reality of what Christ had accomplished. The statement “above all things” should give you a very clear understanding that this absolutely is God’s will for all.
As our spirit and soul prospers we will experience natural prosperity as well as health. For those who oppose the absoluteness of God’s will in these matters, they sadly disrupt the grace of God in their lives.
