Loving greetings in the most glorious name of Jesus! Jyoti and I are back in Sikkim after a great trip that lasted about 10 days. We ministered down south in Bangalore at Embassy of Hope Fellowship, and also taught in Domata India. Then, in Dimapur Nagaland, I had the honor of officiating my first wedding.
As I watched this newly wed couple walk down the isle, I was taken back to the day I married Jyoti. I was blessed to have her with me during this trip, and being able to share my life with her brings such joy. Most of us probably know a marriage that is struggling, or one that has already fallen apart. We live in an hour of history where divorce is increasingly common, and traditional families and marriages are being replaced with “alternative lifestyles”.
It grieves my heart to see so many of God’s people being taken captive by satan and their own flesh, leaving them unable to enjoy God’s blessing in their homes. At the same time, I’m reminded of how deceptive and dangerous a compromised lifestyle can be. I’m reminded that anyone can fall. Anyone, including me.
Our only safeguard is wholehearted devotion to the standards of God’s Word and His Spirit. It is our great honor to love as He loves. As a husband, I have one woman to invest complete love and devotion to. Each of us who are married must make loving our spouse our highest priority. Within that love, God’s plan for humanity is realized. It’s a beautiful thing.
