A help or a hindrance - Soul-Purpose!

Sometimes what looks like help can actually be a hindrance. Only time will tell. In Acts 16 a young lady who seemed to prophecy the Lord’s will, was as it turned out possessed with the devil. (See verses 16-18).

A leader must use discernment, like Paul did, when someone comes to help. The Bible tells us that finally after many days of putting up with the young lady, Paul cast the devil out of her. Perhaps in those many days, Paul did some investigating and found out exactly what her story was. He found out she was a fortune teller, and by the direction of the Holy Ghost he took action.

I appreciate Paul’s patience. We too should be patient, but when it’s time to act…act. Not everyone who seems to want to help is sent from God. Thankfully, with Jesus, there can always be a good ending; perhaps you are supposed to help them!

  1. Peter Oni says:

Indeed, Paul has perfectly accomplished his duties for reasons:
” Paul was providentially prepared for his Ministry-he was a Jew by birth-a Roman Citizen-Educated in Greek Culture and Trained in the Scripture by the Holy Spirit and at Jerusalem”. What a Great Man!
Yes, a leader must use the discernment to tackle everyday scourges. We, as Christians true believers must follow Paul’s footsteps by putting off our sins, putting on good attitude & behavior, being obedient and yield to God’s Words and Will, constantly praying so our relationship with our Father will be solid. From that point, the words that will come out from our mouth will have powerful effects.
    Praise the Lord…Alleluia!
Thanks Mike and congratulations for your tremendous work in the field. God bless you and your team.
    Peter.
