Acts 9:31
“Then had the churches rest throughout all Judæa and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.”
Multiplication is what we’re after, and for good reason. We want more and more people to know Jesus! And it’s rest that we need. Without rest we can never experience multiplication.
In this single verse we see a progression of everything we need. Rest, edification, the fear of the Lord, comfort of the Holy Ghost, and multiplication. Each of these are necessities for success.
Rest will cause you to be built up or edified. Resting doesn’t mean doing nothing and being lazy, it means doing what you’ve been called to do through the energizing power of God. However, being edified doesn’t mean you can just trek your way through life full steam ahead. You must keep a keen eye on the Lord and maintain a healthy fear for Him. All the while, the Holy Ghost is bringing comfort to your walk, encouraging you, speaking peace and lifting you up when you miss the mark. The combination of all these factors provides the perfect environment for multiplication.
May you experience each of these today, and as you move forward in your walk with God!
