Great things are happening here in India. One of the events we are making arrangements for is our annual youth camp, and this is going to be the best year ever. This year we will host the camp on our own property and we will invite many young people. I hope to have at least 50 youth this year. We’re running with the “Survivor” theme, and it’s going to be tons of fun!
I’ve put together a basic per person cost so that you can keep this in prayer, and we invite you to consider making an investment into this camp to help us touch the lives of many young people. The per person cost will be about 3,000 rupees, or $50 each. Extra needs include tents and cooking supplies, which will cost us close to $500. In all, our budget will be in the neighborhood of $3,000 for 50 youth. We could cover more of this expense by charging a camp fee, but we also know that it wouldn’t be possible for most families to afford. Moreover, such a thing is not considered a priority here. So, we plan on making up the difference. We will do some local fundraising, and we welcome our partners to participate as well.
I was born again during a youth camp when I was 15 years old. Someone sponsored me. My life was changed at that camp, so I know first hand how important this event will be.
Besides the cost for setting up and running the camp, we are also looking at the needs for staffing this event. This is the other part of our invitation to you. We would love to have some of our ministry partners come over and help us. Perhaps you would be interested in putting together a team or coming solo? There are many ways you could be a part of this, so if you have even the slightest interest please let me know, and we’ll discuss it further.
I will be sharing more details with you as our camp dates approach. By the way, the camp dates are July 3-6. Coming and helping us would be a great way to spend the 4th of July!
