Praise Jesus! I, along with my father in law, just returned from a week long trip to Meghalaya, Shillong. It was a great trip.
We met with pastors and leaders from several different churches, and were able to make some great connections with them. We look forward to working with many of these churches in the coming days, as we equip laborers to fulfill the great commission in India & beyond. We have already recieved confirmation of two students who will be attending Ambassador Academy ~ Sikkim in January.
There was quite a lot of excitement associated with this trip, and we are very thankful that the Spirit of God inspired us to pray for protection in the days leading up to our journey. First, we were able to avoid the problems created by West Bengal‘s most recent, "Stike!" It was lifted the day we began our journey. Then after finally arriving in Guwahati, after a 3 1/2 hour train delay, we made our way up the Khasi Hills in route to Meghalaya, Shillong.
After leaving Guwahati on Saturday the 24th, riots broke out in the city, and consequently the border between Assam and Meghalaya was sealed. We made it out right on time. The next day bombs rocked the state, and the violence continues.
Our hearts go out to all who are being affected by the sensless violence in Assam, and around the world. We must continue to preach the gospel and reach out to the nations. Only the gospel can cure the darkened heart that satan inspires to steal, kill and destroy.
Other great news from Shillong: We were able to lead family members to Jesus, two of them will attend our Bible School in January, and we are working toward planting a church in the community where they live!
