If the Word of God doesn’t challenge you, then nothing will! I enjoy a good challenge; being motivated to take action and become better is a BIG part of the journey. Well, here’s something quite challenging, found in Genesis 47:
Verse 10,
“And Jacob blessed Pharaoh and went out from his presence.”
Did you catch that? Jacob blessed Pharaoh…Wow! Talk about a corrupt, pagan, political leader – but still, Jacob blessed him. You know, as children of God, we’re just supposed to be a blessing. It doesn’t matter who it is, how they are, or what they do…we’re just supposed to bless them.
If you had the opportunity to stand before the most powerful man in the world, who also happened to think they were God, what would you do? What would I do? Would we complain, criticize, or condemn. Or, would we bless?
I don’t know about you, but I just want to be a blessing to every person I come in contact with. I would like to be known as the one who blesses. And I believe that is the plan of God too.
