No, not the stuff you take after eating a bunch of beans. That would be Beano. The guy in the Bible, you know…the guy named Beno. I know right, I’d never heard of him either, and he isn’t mentioned much; just once in fact. 1 Chronicles 24:26 & 27.
I guess what strikes me is not just the randomness of this guys name, because let’s face it there are lots of random names in the Bible. But it’s just that – there are lots of random names in the Bible; lots of random people. I think it’s just awesome how God used so many different individuals and assigned to each of them specific tasks.
You know, God hasn’t changed. He’s still using random people just like you and I. Whether it’s a Bob, a Tracy, or a Mike (doesn’t get any more common than that), or any other individual; God has assigned to each of us a specific task. He’s still calling and using anyone from anywhere who will simply say yes to Him.
I thank God for the guys like Beno…just mentioned once, buy hey – they made it! They’re in God’s book; recorded for all of eternity.
