Dreaming a bit! - Soul-Purpose!

Support Soul Purpose Hope Homes! LEARN MORE.

A friend recently asked us to dream a bit about our Hope Home in Sikkim, and to share some of the things we would like to see. I appreciate His request very much and want to share some of the questions along with our answers.

  • You mentioned it was about $40 a month to provide for 1 child, is that food, care….?…? Clothing..? Or is it more?

Actually, $40 is the bare minimum. It does provide the basic necessities but ideally, we would like to begin receiving $80 per month per child. With the additional support we could send each of our children to a private school where they would receive a better education and learn in a healthier environment.

  • If you had a mini wish list for the Hope Home and the kids there what would it be? Do you and Jyoti have adequate transportation to get from place to place?

A vehicle is a big one on our mini wish list. For the past couple of years, we’ve been sharing about our desire to have a vehicle that would be big enough to transport all of our children. We’ve looked into minibusses which would work perfectly, and we could use the bus for the church as well.

  • Do you need to decorate and make the kids’ rooms comfy? Blankets, clothes, toys, electronics….candy, fun trips, make a list, dream for me a bit.

There are lots of things we would like to do to bless the children God has given us. Here is a list of items in order of priority that we would like to see happen:

  • The vehicle
  • separate girls home facility
  • New beds and bedding for each child
  • Nice furniture in the kid’s rooms
  • Carpet in the rooms
  • Game rooms filled with fun stuff for the kids
  • Two fun trips per year
  • Outdoor playground, buy the land and build
  • Operate our own school

So, there’s our dream-a-bit-list. Lots of details go along with each item and if you would like more information on anything mentioned, let us know. It’s always fun to dream!
