My heart has been stirring me toward greater depths of intimacy lately. I’ve noticed that the greater quality of communion that I share with the Holy Spirit greatly impacts my ability to intercede in prayer effectively. In order to truly accomplish great things in prayer, there are some things that help prepare us. One of those things is communion with the Holy Spirit; intimate communion.
This is something that I recently read by Pastor Benny Hinn, “Whenever you come to God in prayer, whether in public or in the privacy of your prayer closet, be absolutely certain that you have entered God’s presence before you utter a single word in prayer.”
Of course we can enjoy a casual fellowship with our Father in heaven, but personally I sense the Lord calling me deeper, beyond the casual and into the truly intimate. I believe that it is a vital thing to know that I’m in God’s presence when I’m praying, to be very conscious of my communion with Him. It does something to me. It lifts me, and enables me to go places in prayer where I know great things are being accomplished.
So here I am…going beyond the casual, encouraging intimacy.
