Faithfulness is huge, and today I want to share with you a verse that gives great insight into its dynamic:
1 Samuel 2:35
“And I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest (Priest), who shall do according to what is in My heart and mind…”
Faithfulness is simply that; to do according to the heart and mind of God, and by evaluating myself, I can quickly determine if I’m being faithful or not. The BIG question is whether my heart and mind is in tune with the Lord’s heart and mind, and such fine tuning can only occur as I seek Him.
Personally, I believe such evaluation is vital because it helps keep me on track with God’s will – His heart and mind, which is something each of us must seek to know and do. Faithfulness is all about knowing and doing the will of God.
The rest of the above verse gives us God’s response to the one who is faithful.
He says, “And I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed (Anointed) forever.’
Wow! If that’s not encouraging, nothing is. At least two things can be derived here:
- When we’re faithful, God builds for us!
- Faithfulness qualifies us for the anointing!
Again, wow!
