John 17:9 AMP
“I am praying for them. I am not praying (requesting) for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they belong to You.”
As a collective body of believers we should have our eyes set on the ends of the earth, but as the old saying goes…how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
As individuals, like Jesus, we need to focus. We need to have specific goals, relating to specific people. Then, when our individual efforts are combined, we can successfully accomplish our collective goal.
Though it sounds noble to pray for the entire planet and all of mankind, or to have a vision for billions to come to Christ, an individual person or organization will be more effective if they’ll focus. Take it from Jesus Himself, He didn’t pray for the world, but for those specific ones given to Him.
Can you identify those God has given to you? Is there a specific group of people or people group you are focused on reaching? If not, I encourage you to find them!
