One thing you ought to learn real quick when you begin serving the Lord in any capacity is to keep the fire burning. I read in the book of Revelations that the lukewarm have a very unpleasant effect on Jesus; basically they make Him want to puke. Read it for yourself in Revelations 3:16.

I decided a long time ago that I didn’t want that to be me. I also found out what keeps the fire burning in my life like nothing else. This is a major key for any child of God; found in Luke 24:32. The two disciples describe how their hearts burned within them because of two things:

  1. Jesus talked with them
  2. He opened to them the scriptures
So there you have it. If you want your heart to burn, and to burn and to keep on burning, then you need to hear from God! You need Him to reveal Himself to you in His Word! Glory to Jesus! Every time He speaks to me it’s like fuel for the flame! Every time I receive revelation from His Word my heart burns within me!

If I ever stop hearing from God, that’s when my heart will begin to grow cold and I refuse to let that happen. I know that God is speaking, and I know that He is continually revealing Himself through the scriptures, it’s my job to stay hungry and to continue seeking Him.

Let the fire roar!
