Alright…good to have internet access again. Cables were down for the past three days, and they’re finally back up. I’ve had this post on prayer pending, so here it is.
I was reminded recently of exhortations the Lord made for us to “watch and pray”, and I’m realizing more and more how vital this combination is. We must do both of these things; watch and pray.
Some it seems only pray and I guess it would be better to err on that side, but just think about how our effectiveness is amplified when we go into prayer with necessary observation, which is the by product of watching.
On the other side of this coin is just watching, and often times we fall prey to watching much but praying little. The key is to engage in both.
During prayer I began to visualize a scout, and that’s how I pictured the watching side of our prayer life. Like scouts, we gain vital information through observation, and in turn we bring those things to our Commander in Chief in prayer.
