Tonight at church we spent some time exploring the reality of God’s blessing upon our lives. For some it may have been a new discovery, for others a reminder, but we all saw that God’s blessing is not something that we need to try and earn or wait for. Rather it must be received by faith and we must learn to walk in it.
Without going into great detail, there is one point, which I believe is especially significant, and that is what I want to share with you. Most Christians are very familiar with Malachi chapter 3 and the truths that are written there regarding giving and tithing to the Lord. Verse 10 is one of the most popular verses in that chapter, and for good reason. There we see the blessing that follows obedience in our finances. The windows of heaven will be opened, a blessing will be poured out, and there won’t be room enough to contain it. Glory!
My question to you is this: (supposing that you do tithe, because if you don’t then the word of God says that you are a cursed robber. I didn’t say it, God did). The question…are the windows of heaven open in your life right now, and is a blessing being poured out that you don’t have room enough to contain? Good question aye?
My answer is a resounding YES! All of the following things are indeed true – yes I tithe – yes the windows are open – yes a blessing is being poured out – and the last part is true too! I don’t have room enough to contain it!
Because all of this is true, I refuse to live a life of trying to contain what I have. I believe the Word of God is true right now, and so I must live in the reality of it right now. The question, “How blessed am I?†is answered significantly by my ability or inability to contain what God has poured out in my life this very instant. I must remember, according to God’s Word, I don’t have room enough to contain His blessing in my life, (so why should I try?). That truth causes me to look for ways to be a blessing, and that is the true reciprocal of God’s blessing upon my life. I am blessed to be a blessing. How blessed am I? Well, how much of a blessing am I? There in lies my answer.
This is a very simple yet overlooked statement of truth. We are blessed to bless others you can only give what you have do you have the blessings of God. . .if yes then we should in turn be that blessing in an instantaneous reaction to what God has bestowed upon us. Well said Bro`
