God’s word is full of good questions, and they all hold relevance in the lives of God’s people today. I recently came across this question found in Joshua 18:3, and I encourage you to give it some thought:
According to God it had been quite long enough and it was time for Israel to act – this call to action seems to be a common thread throughout the history of God’s people. How long would they wait? How long would they sit idle being slack or lazy?
Going in and taking possession of what God has promised us is our responsibility. My inheritance is my responsibility and no one else’s. Any failure to take possession of the things of God is my life is my own failure and has at its roots slackness.
God has promised us prosperity for the whole man; spirit, soul and body. He’s promised us the miraculous. He’s promised us the nations! We can’t be slack in taking possession of these and other wonderful promises. We can’t sit idle and wait for something to happen or for God to do something.
Just as God had already given the land to Israel, He has already given us His word, and all that’s needed is action! Go ahead friend, take possession of what’s been promised you! Don’t be slack about it either. Press in, step up and step out – lay hold of the things of God…alright, I’m preaching now and I think you get the point…God bless!
