Humility and repentance are two of the most important characteristics for a fruitful spiritual life. Spiritually speaking, you become irresistible and align yourself with the power and presence of God when these important traits are developed. You make yourself very attractive to God.

Today, consciously humble yourself before God. Acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus in your life. Audibly confess that He is your King and bow before Him in total surrender. Take some time and allow the Holy Spirit to search your heart(7) and reveal areas of your life that you need to repent in.

Repentance is the truest fruit of humility, and to repent simply means to change your heart and mind toward a certain thing. A big part of God’s work is to reveal areas in your life that you need to allow Him into, and where you need to surrender to Him more fully. He is our Creator and we do well to remember the words of the prophet Isaiah…

Isaiah 64:8

“But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and we all are the work of Your hand.”

Maintaing a humble, repentant life before God keeps you soft and moldable in His hands. He is able to form you and fashion you according to His perfect will(8), and that means that you will experience His highest and best in this life. That is where perfect peace and everlasting joy are found; in His hands.

Be honest with God. Take some time to repent before Him. Confess(9) your sins, and remember this promise;

2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Notice our part, which is to humble ourselves, to pray, seek His face, and turn from wickedness, and notice God’s part, which is to hear, to forgive, and to heal. If we’ll do our part, God will certainly do His.
