For anyone involved in any capacity of ministry, where reaching people and being Christ-like are central to your life’s theme, it’s imperative to keep living in light of eternity. Maintaining an eternal perspective ensures life-long pursuit, rather than a temporal journey. No matter how long you’ve been serving Jesus, in light of eternity you’ve just begun. This life and all its service is really just the beginning.
Patient endurance and joyful perseverance are key attributes to the eternal player. My attitude is this, “I’ve only begun, and I haven’t seen anything yet. There’s more to come – in this life – and in the life to come; I’m just getting started!†When things don’t happen the way they should, or take longer than we’d like, we can take courage knowing; this is just the beginning…there’s more.
As we grow and develop in light of our eternal ministry to the Lord Jesus Christ, we will begin pulling eternal realities into this temporal existence. I believe eternal realities such as, instant manifestation of healing, complete deliverance to the captive, and city-wide transformations are a big part of God’s plan. However, I’m not living for those things…I’m living for eternity. No matter how long it takes, whether in this life or the life to come, I will see my hearts desire fulfilled. The only way the will of God can be stopped is if I quit, and a life lived for eternity will never quit.
Remember, wherever you are in your journey, you’re just getting started!
