Genesis 26:22
“And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the Lord hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.”
They dug once and encountered resistance. They dug again and encountered more resistance. They dug a third time and finally experienced breakthrough.
The moral of the story? Keep digging.
In other words, no matter what comes against you; be it a spiritual attack, a physical attack, or anything else. Don’t stop doing what God has put in your heart to do. No matter who says what or does whatever, don’t let opposition keep you from pursuing the will of God. You have to have more endurance than your enemy!
If you’ll keep digging, the enemy will eventually give up on trying to stop you. Too often, though, a little resistance comes along and successfully thwarts the pursuits of God’s people. We can’t allow that to happen.
Wherever the Lord has you digging, whatever He has you doing; do it faithfully, regardless of circumstance. If you’ve been plowing in a neighborhood or witnessing to a friend, and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, just find a new neighborhood or reach out to a different friend. If the village your reaching out to seems hardened to the gospel, go to a different village, give the other some time, and check back later. Just keep plowing, keep preaching, keep giving, keep praying, keep believing, keep on keeping on! Breakthrough is inevitable!
