We had an awesome time of prayer last weekend, taking advantage of the monthly 2nd Saturday holiday here in Sikkim. With the second Saturday being a government holiday, we gathered Friday evening and prayed all through the night! It was the first such event for our church/ministry but certainly not the last.
We plan, for now, to hold these “Night Watch!” services once a month during the same holiday time. But in the future we would like to have these prayer meetings on a weekly basis and who knows, perhaps eventually grow to 24×7 prayer.
The benefits of this type of united and extended prayer are numerous. Here are just a few:
- No distractions. It’s simple…in the middle of the night there are just no distractions. It’s quite and peaceful and much easier to focus.
- Great fellowship. In addition to the focus on prayer, we’re able to enjoy sweet fellowship with others who join…very nice.
- Huge accomplishment. With hours and hours of praying, a lot can be covered, and that’s very important.
I’m posting a copy of the evening’s format/schedule here, just in case any of you have it in your heart to hold this kind of meeting. Get some ideas from what we did and enjoy a great time!
