Overcoming fear II - Soul-Purpose!

Fear suggests something other than what God said; it has its own expected end and therefore interrupts the process of faith in our lives. God’s expected end is for each of His children to inherit the fullness of His will now; in God’s kingdom, anything less is uncivilized. As citizens of the kingdom of God, it is your birthright to receive all that God said you could. Fear says something else; it is the voice of unrenewed reasoning, speaking lies contrary to the truth.

If I sold you a kg of gold, and then proceeded to explain why you needed a warranty for that gold to protect your investment against rust, what would you do? First, you’d better verify that it is indeed gold, and if it is, you can tell me keep the warranty. You wouldn’t need it because gold doesn’t rust!

This is what fear does. It explains to you why something is or isn’t going to happen, and offers you its warranty. Fear says you aren’t going to make it, that you’re going to die. Fear questions the certainty of God’s word, which says you are going to make it and that you will live. When you know the truth you can quickly refuse what fear has to offer.
