God is BIG-TIME into the idea of remembering; He encourages us to remember the right things, things like the deliverance we’ve experienced in redemption.
Deuteronomy 16:3 says this;
“…that all the days of your life you may [earnestly] remember the day when you came out of Egypt.”
This is just one area, one BIG area, that the Lord calls us to be in earnest remembrance of. It’s the day we came out – the day He took us out! I love to remember that day in my life, in fact you can read about it right here if you want to.
Here are a few ways we can emphasize the idea of remembrance in our own lives:
- Celebrating communion helps us to remember…(1 Corinthians 11:23-)
- Witnessing to others helps us to remember…(1 John 1:3)
- Thankfulness is evidence that we DO remember…(1 Chronicles 16:8)
- Putting God in remembrance of His Word helps us to remember too…(Isaiah 43:26)
I pray today that you will be reminded of the day when you came out. It could be the day you were born again, the day you truly surrendered your life to Jesus, the day you became debt free, or any other day of significant blessing in your life.
