Luke 15:1 AMP
“NOW THE tax collectors and [notorious and especially wicked] sinners were all coming near to [Jesus] to listen to Him.”
It’s amazing to me the crowds Jesus drew. He was a magnet for the most unsuspected sort. I think it’s awesome!
As a person, who I’m drawn to is a hint of where I’m going. And as a leader, who is drawn to me is a hint of where I am. Jesus is Savior for the sinner, which is why sinners were and always will be drawn to Him.
If I’m a visionary, I’m probably drawn to other visionaries and other visionaries will be drawn to me. What’s amazing though is how Jesus seemed to break the mold. He wasn’t a sinner, but sinners were still drawn to Him. In Jesus we see a beautiful display of attraction based on the deepest needs of the human heart, the need to be forgiven – a need only He could answer.
This means, not only does like attract like but answer attracts need. Visionaries will attract other visionaries as well as those who need a vision.
In life, we will often attract and be drawn to those like us. We will also attract and be drawn to those with a need we have the answer for, or to those who answer a need we have.
These questions beg an answer…
- What do you want? – Go after it and become part of the audience of those who have what you’re after!
- What do you have? – Offer it to the world and watch your audience grow!
