INVEST TODAY! The Christian Experience: Drinkin’ - Soul-Purpose!

One of the most important, life changing lessons I’ve learned in my Christian experience is to drink. The prelude to that is hunger and thirst, and so that too is an important lesson, but the simple truth of: I need to drink of the Spirit of God to the point of fullness has been of utmost importance to me.

I’ve gotten so drunk in the Spirit that I was unable to function physically; I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve shaken, I’ve danced, I’ve ran, I’ve stood on my head, and the list continues. All of these times in the presence of God, where I was so saturated and did my best to express the fire in my spirit have done wonders for my Christian experience.

I guess the real basic idea is this: if you can be comfortable yielding to the Spirit of God by say dancing at church, then you will be more equipped to yield to Him out in the world when it’s time to preach, lay hands on the sick or work miracles. On the other hand, if you can’t even yield to the Holy Spirit and lift your hands in worship or run around the room in fervent expression, then what are you going to do when it’s time to heal the sick?
