There are multitudes in the valley of decision. (Joel 13:14)
The longing of the human heart can only be satisfied by an equal measure of God’s fullness. He longs to answer your longings, but those desires in you must be expressed in a way, which He can understand.
The Lord understands prayer. He understands fasting. He understands faith. Throughout history, He has answered the longings of the human heart when expressed in these ways. The ultimate fulfillment is found in Christ, and subsequently to walk in the fullness He destines.
