With God payday might not come on Friday, but it always comes! Someone who knew what they were talking about said that, and I believe it too.
Jesus understood this concept (He created it), which is why He endured the cross. There was joy set before Him…He knew it would be worth it. Hebrews 12:2.
You’ve got to know that what you’re doing is worth it; that “knowing” enables you to endure.
“For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.” Hebrews 10:36
Something good always comes after doing the will of God – it will be worth it (whether it seems like it right now or not is irrelevant, you just have to know that it is the will of God). There will be a reward.
Ultimately, it’s the eternal rewards that we look forward to, but God also desires to reward His people openly, which is an extra bonus.
The temporal rewards serve as a boosts in our spiritual lives, enabling us to go further. For example: when your hard work is finally noticed by the ones you serve. That little payoff will give you a boost.
In the same way, leaders can boost those under them by simply noticing. Reminding ourselves, and those we lead, that our reward will ultimately come from God, and providing small payoffs along the way will cause endurance to soar.
Remember: It’s always nice when someone notices. And God always does.ÂÂÂ
