There’s always another step to take; somewhere new to go, new territories to explore and new heights in God. Personally, my radars are constantly scanning for Gods’ signals in my life. However, with this hunger for more there is a danger: the danger is to become negligent toward the present in pursuit of what lies ahead. Sometimes in our hurry for the greater we can unknowingly neglect the present.
For example, right now we have a lot before us…church planting, children’s homes, minister training etc. And, though we have much more in our heart for what God desires to do, it is essential that we continue to hone in on what is currently before us; developing it, growing it, establishing excellence, etc.
This is something I’m working on in my own life because I’m aware of my futuristic perspective. I’m constantly looking ahead, but I also have to constantly look at the present. Being a good steward now will enable God to take us to the next.
Don’t short circuit your future by hurrying ahead. Take your time, invest in the now and God will do the rest.
