What am I accountable for?
Consider these 3 important words: accountability, stewardship, responsibility. They all describe our relationship to life and how we respond to its demands. All of us are accountable for something, and our choices today and throughout our entire adult lives, will one day be taken into account.
What makes accountability so important is the affect it has not only on my life, but on the lives of those around me. None of us are alone; our responsibilities transcend time and space. On a personal level I have to live with my decisions, and often times my decisions become the foundation for success or failure in the lives of others’.
Micah 3:12
“Therefore shall Zion on your account be plowed like a field…”
Things happen, good and bad, and I am accountable for how I influence the outcome, good or bad. I want to live my life in such a way that good happens. By fulfilling my God-given responsibilities as a faithful steward in this life, I will have joy when it’s time to give an account.
None of us begin with a clear account; sin is mounted against all of us. But Jesus wipes the slate clean and offers us a new beginning. We can then begin living a life that will bring joy to heaven and earth, and it’s just that friend -Â this life – that we are accountable for.
