We’re excited to seal our corporate 21 day fast with a special “Vow Of Purity” service at Embassy of Hope Church in Sikkim on Saturday. This event is specially designed for our young people at this crucial juncture in their lives. Today teenagers are being bombarded with temptation and the world is becoming more and more acceptant of pre-marital relationships. But as the Church of Jesus Christ in the earth, we must take a stand for righteousness, purity, and holiness. That’s what “Vow Of Purity” is all about.
Even in India, a nation that boasts of its “modesty“, we see the trend of sexual promiscuity becoming more and more the norm. But God calls His people to be separate, and that’s what we’re celebrating in the lives of 7 dear young people in our church. We believe that such consecration and devotion for Jesus will cause them to shine bright in this perverse generation.
Every young person needs the opportunity to surrender completely to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. By doing so, they are aligning themselves with the perfect will of God, and they are trusting Him to bring the right person into their life, whom they can spend the rest of their life with in marriage covenant. This decision will enable them to stand up to the pressures and temptations around them, and to be victorious. They will also escape the heartbreak and devastation associated with sexual and emotional compromise.
I thank God that 7 young people in Sikkim are taking their “Vow Of Purity”, and I pray to God that many more will follow!
