We talked about purity of heart, and having pure motives, and that lead us up to John 8:29; the ultimate motivator!
It says, “And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things which please Him.” Wow! I so want to be able to say that; I always do those things that please Him. If I keep that in mind, it will help me tremendously; all I have to do is bounce what I’m doing or thinking or whatever else off that verse…does it please Him?
Jesus made three statements:
- He who sent me is with me
- The Father has not left me alone
- I always do what pleases my Father
We already looked at the third one. But those other two statements are awesome too! Think about the first one, He is always with you. That should help us to make the right decisions.
Jesus also said the Father has not left Him alone; I started thinking about it, and all I can say is, “I don’t want the Father to leave me alone either.” You know, the only reason our Father would ever leave us alone, is if we just flat out stopped caring about what He thinks or has to say. Yeah, if you ignore Him long enough, or willfully disobey him enough, He may decide to leave you alone. But man, I don’t ever want that to happen, so I’m just going to do my best to always do what pleases Him. I’m even thinking about making a big poster of that verse so I can hang it in my office and look at it every day.
